I believe that I have a purpose
I believe that I have a purpose and I can work to understand better that purpose. Learning, applying, experiencing, and writing are tools that move me on the path towards my purpose. I haven’t written here in a while, but over the past year have amassed notebooks filled with my understanding of truth. I believe that the overarching goal of each human is to reveal the truth that is meant for them to reveal.
Each of us has experienced life through the unique lenses of our soul, processing and responding to the unique set of experiences that life grants us. We did not design the characteristics and limitations of our soul, we did not create the experiences available to us in this world, we are not responsible for the existence of the universe. We are simply actors playing out our role in the way that was written for us, on a backdrop designed in a specific manner that sets the stage for the next essential scene, touching upon all the right themes with the right amount of complexity and difficulty to keep it interesting, stimulating, challenging.
Yes, we feel as if we have some control over the story, that we are free to write the next scene as we see fit. This is the feeling we are meant to have, this viewpoint is what is best for us. It is the most engaging and satisfying viewpoint for a human to take. If we knew exactly what was going to happen next, knew exactly how the story was going to end, it would be boring, it wouldn’t be fun.
The best perspective is to experience this world as creators, as beings with true free will, as beings with the ability to write the next scene, as beings whose decisions are meaningful, However, the degree to which we are free, to which we can create, is limited by the software and hardware we have been provided. As humans experiencing this world, it is best for us to also recognize this truth. That to maximize our potential as human beings, as little creators, we internalize our power to write while simultaneously understanding that some other entity has given us the pen, the paper, and the ability to think up the next scene.
As humans we are limited to create only with purpose. As such, it is most true, most human, to imagine everything in creation to have been created with purpose, with a reason. What is the purpose to this story, how do I do my part to write the best ending of all time? The kind of ending that weaves all the parts of the story together with such beauty that leaves the viewer smiling at the end, feeling a sense of closure, feeling complete, feeling at peace.
I undoubtedly don’t know how what the purpose is or how the story is going to end. However, I choose to write my next scene inspired by my best educated guess as this particular point in time. I was inspired to write my best guess early this year on the 6th of Tishrei (September 12, 2021). This is what I wrote:
I believe the world has a purpose.
That ultimately, all unnecessary boundaries will be broken down.
All the boundaries that divide us, that we are so sure make us different from one another.
These are not real, and they will fall.
We are truly all a part of only one nation, the human nation.
Within each one of us is an otherworldly force.
Some call it a soul, some call it consciousness, others call it a conscience.
This force influences in an unparalleled fashion
The intricacies of its influence are so complex and far-reaching that it is impossible to calculate entirely.
However, its influence follows laws definable in this reality, and these we can and will understand.
Equilibrium exists.
Perfect balance between the forces of the universe interacting in time.
The world is most healthy at equilibrium.
The forces of this world approach equilibrium over time.
The otherworldly force can upset this balance, moving the world away from equilibrium.
The forces of the universe will respond to this imbalance, each acting in the way necessary to restore equilibrium.
The universe is evolving in a very specific way.
The change we see is being driven to establish a specific state.
Life evolves in order to approach the appropriate balance between all elements.
Change is real, and an important clue to understanding the purpose of the universe.
We have documented the evolution of life.
Life on earth has evolved in a very specific way. The physical and functional properties of each organism are very specific and perfectly shaped by the forces in existence that drive change.
A peacock shaped mold comprises boundaries arranged in such a way that when filled with a plastic substance, a peacock shaped object is formed.
Similarly, in the living world, there exists molds and plastic substance.
Genetic material is the plastic, fundamental building block of life.
The boundaries that shape a mold in the living world are comprised of all the forces in the universe that influence genetic material.
The forces work together to produce the perfect peacock mold, the peacock that is physically and functionally balanced with its environment. The forces drive the development of extremely specific looking and functioning peacock feathers.
Change of all kinds is not random, it is driven by forces creating boundaries that mold the objects and ideas we see today.
All life functions to approach a purpose, the purpose to approach equilibrium. Equilibrium exists when the functionality of an object or idea is maximal. The functionality of an object is maximal when the ratio of relative internal and external functionality is closest to 1, when selfishness and selflessness are appropriately balanced to maximize the health of the universe.
